History
Our journey began in 1979 when Don Waugh laid the foundation of what would become Waugh Miller Macqueen. With a vision to provide exceptional accounting services tailored to the needs of agriculture and rural businesses, our firm started its meaningful journey.
In 1982, Greg Miller joined the team, bringing additional expertise and passion for supporting regional enterprises. Rob Macqueen became a part of our family in 1995, further strengthening our commitment to the communities we serve. Over the years, we’ve proudly cultivated three-generation relationships with our clients, a testament to the trust and value they find in our services.
From our humble beginnings in Dowerin to our presence throughout the Wheatbelt, our history is intertwined with the success stories of the businesses we’ve had the privilege to serve. We continue to embrace our legacy as we forge ahead, dedicated to providing expert accounting solutions with a genuine touch.

Richard Waugh
Partner

Richard officially commenced working at Waugh Miller Macqueen in 1998, continuing in his father’s footsteps almost 20 years after Don established the practice.
A Certified Practising Accountant, Richard has spent over 25 years servicing Agribusiness clients from our Dowerin office. - Richard became a Partner of the firm in 2010, and through his passion for rural communities, remains an active member of many local organisations and development groups.
Danny Poultney
Partner

Danny is a Chartered Accountant and Specialist Superannuation Adviser with 15 years accounting experience, joining Waugh Miller Macqueen in 2022 before becoming a Partner of the firm in July 2023.
Having grown up on his parent’s farm in Quairading, Danny has a natural interest in Agribusiness and Self-Managed Superannuation Funds. -
Despite a strong Agricultural focus throughout his career, Danny has also worked with many mid-sized businesses globally during his time based in Scandinavia.
This experience and knowledge has put Danny in a great position to advise our mid-sized business clients, and drives his interests towards efficient accounting practices.
Paul Donatti
Accountant

Paul is an accountant with 23 years of experience, having completed his Bachelor of Commerce - Accounting in 2012. Paul joined Waugh Miller Macqueen in 2004 and lived in Goomalling for 10 years before moving back to Perth at the end of 2013.
Paul has an in-depth knowledge of Wheatbelt businesses and communities alike, and specialises in all things compliance for Agribusinesses & Small-Mid Sized Businesses.
Don Waugh
Consultant
- After growing up in Manjimup, Don commenced his accounting career in 1970, joining a cadet program in Perth with an Agricultural specialist accounting firm. Following various country postings from 1972 to 1979, Don returned to Dowerin to establish what is now known as Waugh Miller Macqueen.
- 44 years later, Don remains an integral part of the firm, advising many clients across multiple generations and mentoring the current Partners of the firm he established, while keeping a close watch on the local football club.
Greg Miller
Consultant
- Greg commenced his accounting career almost 50 years ago, servicing farming and agricultural businesses with an emphasis on strategic planning, succession planning and financial management.

Since arriving in Dowerin over 40 years ago, Greg has focused on the broader central wheatbelt, and in many cases has seen the transition of family farming groups across three generations, recognising the tenacity of clients to ride through the difficult times to enjoy the highs.
Greg remains a valuable member of the practice, particularly around client succession planning, cashflow planning and mentoring the current Partners.
Robert Macqueen
Consultant
- After moving to Western Australia from New South Wales in 1981 as a stock agent in the Great Southern, Robert commenced his accounting career in 1986. After a five year stint at an Agricultural specialist accounting firm, Robert joined Waugh Miller Macqueen in 1995, based in Dowerin, Wongan Hills and Koorda.
- Throughout his career, Robert has been passionate about living and working in the Central Wheatbelt, developing strong relationships and understanding of his clients from family farming businesses to Agribusiness manufacturers.
Angela Webber

Since joining Waugh Miller Macqueen in 2001, Angela has an excellent knowledge of our clients and systems, overseeing the practice management and administration.
Angela also manages the ASIC compliance for all companies within our client’s structures, maintaining compliance regulation with annual company reports and required form changes through our specialist corporate management software.
Di Griffin

Di commenced working for Waugh Miller Macqueen in 2008. Having over 15 years experience in the accounting industry, Di has become an extremely valuable asset for our clients, assisting with all things bookkeeping, STP compliant payroll administration and employer superannuation.
Di is also our office champion of MYOB, specialising in both MYOB Essentials and MYOB Payroll programs.
